Kitchen Help

Can different nuts be used instead of almonds?

Yes, cashews or pecans can be substituted for almonds. Adjust baking time to avoid over-roasting smaller nuts.

Is there a gluten-free variation?

Use tamari instead of soy sauce, and verify miso labels for gluten-free certification to ensure suitability.

How to keep the mix fresh longer?

Store the snack mix in an airtight container at room temperature. Best consumed within five days for optimal crunch.

Can dried fruit be added?

Dried cranberries or cherries work well and bring tartness, while enhancing festive color in the snack blend.

What beverage pairs well?

Dry Riesling, sparkling sake, or crisp white wines complement the savory-sweet flavors of sesame and miso.

Are there nut-free alternatives?

Try using roasted chickpeas or crunchy seeds as a nut-free crunchy option in place of almonds.
